this is a glossary about my field of study. have been in my program for 4 years. my glossary is to understand what can be done with the program the services that the program can offer, for example. the method I use to find words is the notebook and the lessons I have already had in the program. I found the definition in the notebook as well as on the internet.
- Delinquency
- noun
- Failure to do what law or duty requires.
- Example: Criminal delinquency offenses include, for example, homicide, robbery, assault, burglary, and theft.

- Victim
- Noun
- A person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action.
- Example: She was the victim of an armed robbery.

- Violence
- noun
- Behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something.
- Example: She lives in a neighborhood with a lot of violence.

- Social Worker
- noun
- a person whose job is to help people in a particular area who has social disadvantages or personal problems.
- Example: The social worker helps support this family.

- Homeless
- noun
- A person without a home, and therefore typically living on the streets.
- Example: She doesn't have a place to live, so she stays in organizations for homeless people.

- Correctional officer
- noun
- A prison officer or corrections officer also known as a Correctional Law Enforcement Officer is a uniformed law enforcement official responsible for the custody, supervision, safety, and regulation of prisoners. They are responsible for the care, custody, and control of individuals who have been convicted of a crime and sentenced to imprisonment
- Example: The correctional officer had to do night duty in a dangerous prison every day.

- Bullying
- noun
- A person who uses force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate or, aggressively impose domination over others.
- Example: He was bullied in high school.

- Drug
- noun
- A medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.
- Example: He had a drug addiction before.

- community center
- noun
- Public locations where members of a community tend to gather for group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes.
- Example: When she arrived in Canada, she went to a community center so that she could integrate more easily.

- halfway house
- noun
- A center for helping former drug addicts, prisoners, psychiatric patients, or others to adjust to life in general society.
- Example: When he got out of prison he had to go to a halfway house.

- jail
- noun
- A place for the confinement of people accused or convicted of a crime.
- Example: The police put a criminal in jail.

- youth centre
- noun
- A place or organization providing leisure activities for young people.
- Example: she works with young people who are placed in youth center.

- handcuff.
- noun
- A pair of lockable linked metal rings for securing a prisoner's wrists.
- Example: The police handcuffed the man.

- sexual abuse.
- noun
- Forcing undesired sexual behavior by one person upon another.

- parental neglect.
- noun
- A form of child abuse, child neglect is an act of caregivers that results in depriving a child of their basic needs, such as the failure to provide adequate supervision, health care, clothing, or housing, as well as other physical, emotional, social, educational, and safety needs.
- Example: His parents neglect their children they spend days without eating.

- treatment intended to relieve or heal a disorder.
- Example: She is undergoing therapy with a counselor.

- domestic violence.
- noun
- Violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner.
- Example: He is a victim of domestic violence by his wife.

- murder.
- noun
- The unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.
- Example: He committed murder.

- gang member.
- noun
- A gang is a group or society of associates, friends or members of a family with a defined leadership and internal organization that identifies with or claims control over territory in a community and engages, either individually or collectively, in illegal, and possibly violent, behavior.
- Example: He is a former member of the Hell Angels gang.

- Sentence.
- noun
- The punishment assigned to a defendant found guilty by a court, or fixed by law for a particular offense.
- Example: He was sentenced to 8 years in prison for his crime.
